About

A software engineer who builds for his neighbors.

Ladiga Studios is one person, me, in Piedmont, Alabama. I build websites and apps for businesses, ministries, and towns, and I keep them running after launch.

Nate Butler

Nate Butler, founder

From Department of Defense code to Main Street.

I studied computer science at Jacksonville State University with a concentration in Information Assurance. After that I spent five years as a Department of Defense contractor, writing software for the Air Force, the Army, and the Marines.

That kind of work has a different standard. You can’t ship something half-done, and you can’t leave a hole and patch it later, because people depend on what you build. That mindset never leaves you.

So I brought it home. Today I build for the businesses and organizations around me: City of Piedmont, Southern Railroad Depot Museum, Venecia's Foundation, Rocket City Trikes, and plenty more across Alabama. Some are five-page sites. Some are real software, like WatchRoom for fire departments and Local Lantern for the whole state.

The name comes from the Chief Ladiga Trail, 33 miles of old railroad turned into something the whole community uses. That’s the job as I see it: take something with real value, make it useful, and build it to last.

The background, in three cards.

Background
DoD software

Five years writing software for the Department of Defense before the studio. You don't ship half-done work there, and you don't leave holes to patch later.

Training
B.S. Computer Science

Jacksonville State University, with a concentration in Information Assurance. Security was the training, so it's in from the start.

Reach
Alabama and beyond

Based in Piedmont, working with people anywhere. You always talk to the person who built your site. No ticket numbers, no account manager.

Four things I don’t bend on.

Security is built in.

Information Assurance was my degree and my day job before this. No pile of plugins, no admin panel left open, nothing to patch later.

Bold beats bland.

Your site should look like your business and nobody else's. A fence company and a hair stylist shouldn't look the same online, and on my wall they don't.

You get me, not a queue.

The person who built it is the person who picks up. No account manager, no help desk, no ticket number.

Prices you can see.

A fixed quote before work starts, no setup fee, and the monthly plans printed right on the site. Leave any month.

Proof beats a bio. Here’s some of it.

Every site and app, all live right now. Each one has its own write-up and screenshots.

Let’s build something good.

Tell me about your business. I read every message myself and get back to you by tomorrow.
